Public Service Activities
U of I Extension Horticulture and Urban Forestry Programs
These programs play a vital role in educating professional horticulturalists and plant scientists throughout the state, but particularly in the urban and suburban centers. Classes, workshops, seminars, and publications assist urban gardeners, nursery and garden center operators, landscape contractors and arborists in greening our cities and keeping them environment healthy. Cooperative programs with the University of Illinois Arboretum using international and regional resources evaluate and produce new plants and technologies relevant to urban horticulture.
