Managerial Development Program
The Managerial Development Program, or MDP, was created to allow organizations to provide their leaders with an external development opportunity focused on increasing managerial competence. Following an assessment center model, MDP allows managers the opportunity to participate in lifelike behavioral simulation exercises (both individually and in groups) and receive feedback on their competence in problem solving, conflict management, leadership, and many other important dimensions. Unlike many performance improvement programs, the developmental opportunities do not end with completion of the full day of behavior-based training and feedback. Development facilitators work with participating managers on a monthly basis, form formal development plans with them, and track their progress over the course of a year or more. Using a multi-source feedback model, MDP provides managers with the opportunity to have their competence reevaluated regularly, allowing for the maximization of self-awareness, the identification of development needs, and transfer of training. Our staff provides development solutions along the way to help encourage growth and improvement. A final significant benefit is that the MDP is currently being offered free of charge to participating organizations.
