Caregiving Programs on WILL AM-TV
WILL AM-TV have produced a series of programs focusing on caregiving needs and caregiver needs. In January 2004, WILL-TV produced a local follow-up to a PBS program, The Forgetting: A Portrait of Alzhemier's. Volunteers from area human service agencies operated a phone bank during the broadcast. WILL-AM 580's call-in talk programs, Focus 580 and The Afternoon Magazine, have examined various aspects of caregiving. WILL-TV aired And Thou Shalt Honor, a TV special about caring for aging spouses, parents and friends. Volunteers from area human service agencies operated a phone bank during the broadcast. WILL-TV also produced and aired Beyond Burden: Caregiving as a Basic Human Need in January 2003. WILL received a Governor's Award for Excellence from the Illinois Department on Aging for work with the community on caregiving issues.
