Human Resource Development Online
The Global Human Resource Development (HRD) master's program at the University of Illinois is designed for individuals currently working in or aspiring to human resource development positions in a variety of organizational sectors. Our HRD students and graduates work for community-based groups, corporations, educational institutions, government agencies, healthcare organizations, the military, and non-profit organizations. The program is focused on training and development, organization development, and the use of technology for performance improvement at the individual and organizational levels. Emphasis is placed on human resource development leadership in both domestic and international settings. This program will award a Master of Education ( Ed.M.) degree after the completion of nine courses (one course is equal to four credit hours).
All course instruction will be online via the Internet, allowing students great flexibility in scheduling their learning. Each course will include times when students will be required to participate in synchronous online group sessions. Students are part of a cohort and enroll in one course per 10-week term, in addition to completing an applied capstone project. This schedule allows students in the cohort to complete their degrees in two years.
