Waste Management and Research Center (WMRC)

This state-of-the-art research and training center is designed to facilitate research on hazardous material and waste problems. WMRC is charged with a mission to address the waste management problems of the state through pollution prevention research and education; information collection, analysis and dissemination; and direct technical assistance to industry, agriculture, and communities. The priority of the center's pollution prevention efforts is working with industry to reduce waste at the source and to recycle those wastes that cannot be reduced. WMRC is a division of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and is an affiliate agency of UIUC. The center is located on the south campus in the Waste Management and Research Center.
