Water Resources Center
The center was created by the Water Resources Act of 1964 to conserve and protect water resources. With funds from the U.S. Geological Survey and the state, it became part of a nationwide network of university-based centers dedicated to research and Extension programs on water issues. The center administers a competitive grants program for projects that address water issues critical to Illinois and the Midwest. Also, it has published public information brochures and sponsored conferences, programs, and workshops on water issues.
