Illini Marching Band Festival
This annual fall festival brings approximately 60 bands from all over the state of Illinois to compete in both parade and show competitions on campus. Forty-four bands take part in the Parade Marching Contest and 45 participate in the Field Show Contest at Memorial Stadium. Adjudicators from all over the United States rate the bands on marching, maneuvering, music, showmanship, drum major, percussion and color-guard performances. The band contest is sanctioned by the Illinois High School Association and sponsored by the School of Music and the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics.
