Illinois Trombone Symposium and Honors Trombone Choir
This event brings outstanding high school trombonists from around the state, region, and country to the campus and to sites throughout Illinois to expose them to the 500-year performance tradition of the trombone choir. Students are selected on the basis of their high school band director's recommendation. During two days, more than 50 young trombonists attend trombone choir rehearsals, master classes and concerts presented by world-renowned artists, and visit instrument displays.
