Descriptive Video Service, WILL-TV
Descriptive Video Service (DVS) is a free service that helps make television accessible to people who are blind or visually impaired by providing narrated descriptions of the key visual elements of a television program without interfering with the program audio or dialogue. The narration describes visual elements such as actions, settings, scene changes, and body language. In collaboration with the Illinois Radio Reader, WILL-TV has been providing DVS services since January 1991. DVS is currently provided on the Nature, Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery! series as well as Arthur, Barney and Friends, Mister Rogers, Between the Lions and ZOOM.
