Family Life Education

The Department of Human and Community Development provides statewide leadership to University of Illinois Extension programming related to children and families through the Family Life Team. The team helps individuals build the knowledge and skills necessary for working with and living in families. Using printed materials, multimedia, conferences, workshops, and on-site training, family life educators help professionals and family members apply the latest research in their personal and professional lives. Program emphases include families with children from birth through adolescence, family relationships, and adult development and aging. The team is comprised of 23 professional staff members representing center and unit educators throughout Illinois and campus-based faculty as well as extension specialists.
