Illinois Legislative Staff Intern Program

This program recruits outstanding graduate students nationally and provides opportunities each year for 20 interns to serve with Illinois leaders or nonpartisan research agency staffs. Interns draft legislation, research issues, and review state appropriations, working closely with legislators and legislative staff. Past interns include U.S. congressional representatives, state legislators, and lobbyists. This office also coordinates the Zeke Girogi Memorial Internship Program, the internship program for the senate minority leader's office, and several private sector internships.
