Institute for Legislative Studies
This institute's activities involve promoting public understanding of and interest in the state legislative process. It focuses its attention to a great degree on the Illinois General Assembly, but it is also interested in other state and national legislatures, and in state politics and policy generally. The institute has a strong commitment to carrying out applied and academic research projects and public affairs activities. Areas of current research by institute faculty and staff include campaign finance, state-level legislative lobbying, legislative redistricting, voter turnout, and morality policy politics.
