Public Service Activities
Center for State Policy and Leadership
The Center contributes to the development of knowledge, which it applies to the solution of public problems and the evaluation of public policies. Its units focus on applied research about the Illinois General Assembly, the judicial system, and state administrative agencies; the Center also provides technical assistance to government units. The Center houses the major public affairs units at UIS: Illinois Issues, the Institute for Legal and Policy Studies, the Institute for Legislative Studies, the Survey Research Office, Graduate Intern Programs, the Publication Unit, the Office of Electronic Media, and WUIS/WIPA. These units are coordinated by the Center's central office, which serves as a contact for requests for consultation and services.
