Community Writing Project

The Community Writing Project hosts wrting workshops for people who do not ordinarily consider themselves to be writers, and publishes their reflections on everyday life in the magazine, Real Conditions. Because only the collective efforts of ordinary people can make a better world, we are particularly interested in the creative expressions and unique understandings of those who have been relegated to the margins of society, and those who risk their privilege to join them. The project is affiliated with the UIC Center for Youth and Society, College of Education, 322 S. Green St., Suite 108, Chicago, IL 60607.
