REACH: Realizing Artistic Choices
This program and scholarship fund of the School of Art and Design was developed to implement new art initiatives by students, artists, and institutions in diverse urban settings. REACH serves the university and its surrounding communities with undergraduate, graduate, and public programs.
REACH Scholars provides for the recruitment and support of first-generation undergraduate students from Chicago's culturally diverse inner-city public high schools. REACH Fellows provides M.F.A. graduates with postgraduate fellowships to develop art projects in partnership with community agencies. REACH Artists in Residency brings to UIC from outside the city artists whose works engage diverse issues and audiences of the urban community.
