Institute on Disability and Human Development: Advocacy and Empowerment for Minorities Program

Our purpose is to develop model programs that will address the needs of the growing African-American and Latino disability communities within the Chicagoland area. Projects conducted in this program attempt to provide consumers and their families with empowering strategies for improving the quality of life and that of other members of their communities. Included in this program are four projects which are "Capacity Building for ADA Implementation," "Disabling Bullet," "Empowering Choices" & "Transitions," and "Recruiting Mentors."
