Early Outreach: Parent Network
All parents with children in either Saturday College or in the Hispanic Math/Science Education Initiative (HMSEI) must participate in the groups'
Parent Network. These parent associations provide parents with support
through workshops on various topics including funding a private high school
education, choosing the right high school, helping each child choose courses
in high school, keeping children focused on their academics, crossing the
generation gap without falling through the abyss, how to help your child with his school work, keeping kids involved in academic programs during the
summer, determining when your child/family needs counseling, financial aid
for college, family matters, etc. The Parent Network has several committees
which assist it in adhering to its by-laws, staying on track as an advisory
group to Early Outreach, and expanding its mission as times change. The
committees are: fund raising, guest speakers, scholarship, parent events,
monitoring, communicatons, and nominating.
