Public Service Activities
Future Teachers Association
UIC collaborates with this program to recruit primarily minority students into teaching careers in Chicago through Future Teacher programs at 90 public and private city elementary schools, high schools, and colleges. More than 2,300 high school and college students participate in Future Teachers activities, which include tutoring, interaction with teachers and teaching, exposure to college options, teacher preparation courses, and mentoring programs. The UIC Future Teachers Club conducts monthly meetings where topics related to education are discussed. All UIC students interested in teaching are invited to participate in this professional forum for the exchange of ideas.
