Chicago Secondary Mathematics Improvement Project

This NSF-funded project provides standards-based professional development for up to 200 secondary mathematics teachers in Chicago schools.  The program is designed to help teachers make the major changes being called for with the new NCTM, Illinois, and Chicago standards, especially in the adoption of new reform-based curricula and the move to a more student-centered mode of instruction with a focus on problem-solving and  a rich understanding of mathematical concepts.
